Top Ten Tuesday #19
Happy Tuesday, book buddies! It’s time for another round of TOP TEN TUESDAY hosted by Jana at ThatArtsyReaderGirl.
This week’s topic is Books On My Spring TBR. Now like any good bookworm, I have plenty of books on my physical TBR. Stacks of options sat before me and I couldn’t figure out how to narrow down my next 10 reads — especially given my mood-reading tendencies. So instead of focusing on my next 10 (because honestly that won’t take all Spring anyways) I decided this TTT entry, will focus on my Top Ten most anticipated releases/reads for Spring (March, April, May publication dates). These are all books that I already own or have pre-ordered so it’ll still serve its Spring Cleaning purposes!!
Without further ado, my Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR!
1) Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi – 03/06/18
This book has everything going for it: interesting concept, insane cover art/graphics, own voices author, and all the hype in the world. Seriously, all the hype. The greatest part? It seems (from every review I’ve read so far) that it not only lives up to the hype but destroys it. I pre-ordered this and can’t wait to finish my current reads to get to it!
2) Blood Water Paint by Joy McCullough – 03/06/18
This poetic historical fiction novel was slow to pop up on my radar. I didn’t know about it prior to its release date, but after seeing several trusted reviewers singing its praises, I knew I needed to get my act together and dive into this emotional read.
3) The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven – 03/08/18
Unlike the previous novel, this is a book that blew up over my feed. And the common theme was that this is a MUST read due to its stance on feminism and women’s issues. It’s also apparently charming and hysterical so I can’t wait to see how that works out.
4) Obsidio by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – 03/13/18
I’m not gonna lie my interest for this book drastically rose after getting to meet the authors at a Q&A/meet and greet this past Sunday (post to come). Don’t get me wrong, I’m invested in this sci-fi trilogy, but it probably wouldn’t have made my must-read immediately list if not for the secrets I learned at that signing event!
5) Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett – 04/03/18
Y’all saw my mini-review for Alex, Approximately so it should make sense why ANYTHING by Jenn Bennett was going to make my TBR list. I fell so hard for her writing and hope this next novel can live up to my swoony standard.
6) Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young – 04/24/18
You know those books that you see and just instantly form a ridiculous attachment to? Like you’re not even really sure why but you know that you’re meant to read that book? This is one of those for me. I plan on reading this, loving this, and then taking the necessary steps required to become a Viking.
7) Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli – 04/24/18
I’m currently on the feels bus with Becky Albertalli after seeing Love, Simon in theaters this past weekend. I adored the source novel, loved the movie, and now want to see where she takes the Simonverse next. Even if Leah wasn’t really my favorite…ducks to avoid inevitable tomato throwing…
8) A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas – 05/01/18
Now, I know I’m the FIRST BLOGGER that’s mentioned this one so let me give you a thorough breakdown as to why this is included on my Spring TBR! 😉 Obviously kidding, y’all. I — like most of you — am complete trash for this series and will be reading this the day I get my hands on it!
9) Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka – 05/22/18
My most recent discovery on the list is this adorable YA contemporary set in the world of high school theater. Not only do I suspect that it’ll bring the feels, but also the memories.
10) Legendary by Stephanie Garber – 05/29/18
Wrapping up the list is Garber’s final installment in the Caraval duology. I read and initially loved the first book, and from what I’ve heard about her sophomore effort, it’s arguably better than the first! So color me ready for the concluding chapter of this series!
And that completes my Spring TBR! Here’s hoping I stick with it and get them ALL read by Summer! I got 5/10 off my WINter TBR so let’s hope I do better this time around!!
Did any of these titles make it onto your Top Ten? Have you already crossed some of these off your TBRs?? Should I start at 1 and work my way down?? Look forward to hearing from you!
And, as always: Happy Reading!
Sooooo many good ones on this list! ❤ I really hope you love Blood Water Paint as much as I did. And Obsidio!

I hope so too! I’m rereading Illuminae now so it’s gonna take me a hot second to get to Obsidio, but I’m gonna bust my butt to make it happen! Thanks for the rec!

Oh that’s so good to hear. Like I said every single person I’ve encountered seems to be enjoying it so I hope I’m not the lone unpopular opinion.
