Top Ten Tuesday: The Original 10 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday #23

Happy Tuesday, book nerds!

As many of you know this is probably my last post before I leave for ITALY!!! Oh my goodness, please forgive me, but I HAD to share that gif. (If you’ve seen this beloved dumpster fire of a movie you understand what compelled me to do so.) But for real, I’ll be heading out in the next few days for Italy and I’m starting to freak out. I’ll do my best to post while abroad, but even if I don’t, trust there will be plenty of photos to share upon my return!

Beyond my international plans, it’s time for TOP TEN TUESDAY hosted by Jana at ThatArtsyReaderGirl.

This week’s topic is supposed to be: “Books I Decided to DNF Too Quickly,” but I’ve never DNF’d a book. So instead of being disqualified, I’m recycling a topic that I missed: Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read. To really bring the shame I added a few stipulations:

These are the books that have been on my GR TBR list the longest that are also:

  1. NEVER mentioned in my previous “Why Haven’t I Read This?” posts

  2. Rated over 4-Stars currently, which proves how insulting my lack of reading truly is AND

  3. Are books I physically own/possess, which eliminates any excuse for why I haven’t read them already

With that being said let the shaming begin with my TOP TEN BOOKS THAT HAVE LINGERED ON THE TBR FOR TOO DANG LONG!!!

Raven boys and Unwind have also been on my TBR for the longest time! I keep telling myself that I will get to them, and I know that I will, but at this point I don’t think it’s going to be any time soon *sigh* On another note, definitely read The Name of the Wind! It’s one of the best fantasy books out there and I promise you will fly through it!

Right??? I’ve owned them for ages and really need to get on the dang ball. I noticed while compiling this list that most are the start of series and I wondered if that’s what was keeping me from jumping on the fanwagon.

I’ve read The Raven Boys (recommend you immediately begin reading this book), Red Rising, and Unwind – loved all of them. I’m in the minority, but The Darkest Minds didn’t resonate as much with me.

See I’m so torn on this one because I’ve seen people that are like READ IT NOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE??? And then people that are like meh… lol I’m so glad you enjoyed them though and I’ll definitely try and sneak in one of those three in the next few weeks! Thanks!!!

You have so many great books on here! Unwind and The Raven Boys are two of my favourites, so definitely start with those, but I also really enjoyed The Language of Thorns when I read it a couple months ago and Daughter of The Pirate King is a lot of fun! Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier 🙂

Sorry for the delay. I’m blaming Rome! lol! You’re the first person I’ve seen mention Unwind and I’ve been wanting to read that so badly! Did you read the whole series or just book 1? Does the whole series stack up or is it a book 1 only kind of deal? Thanks again!

Ha ha no worries! Oh really? I feel like that a lot sometimes, it was one of the first series I really raved about when I started my blog. I read the whole series and it’s definitely not a book 1 only kind of deal. Book 3 was kind of middle book syndromey but 1, 2 & 4 are amazing so that makes Book 3 worth it!

I know! Sanderson has such a massive and loyal fan base, but I feel like I need to have the time to devote to his world and I’m not sure I have that yet! Hopefully I’ll find the time soon! Thanks so much for the well wishes Italy was AMAZING! And the gif is from The Lizzie McGuire Movie…hangs head in shame…lol

Great list! We have a few of these in common such as The Name of the Wind, The Darkest Minds, and Daughter of the PIrate King (I really need to read them too!). I do have to say though that I think The Raven Boys and Red Rising are 100% worth all of the hype, hopefully you’ll enjoy them when you get the time! 🙂

Okay Raven boys got so much love on this post I think I need to push that one up the list for sure!! I am so intrigued by Red Rising, but hear such polarizing views. What did you enjoy most about it?
