Happy Sunday, book nerds!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and start to December! I still can’t believe we’re in the final month of 2018!! Between the holidays, prepping for the holidays, and end of year goals, I think this month is truly going to fly by! And because of that, I plan on spending a good part of today catching up on blog posts, some of my blog tour reads, and rewatching Outlander. The latter one I can’t explain it’s just a mood.
In other news, I launched this holiday-themed series yesterday and got so many kind words on Twitter/IG so I hope y’all continue to enjoy this as much as I do. For a quick recap:
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, I’ll be highlighting one content creator that has made an impact in my bookish life. Each post will feature a mini bio on the day’s selected star, all of the links to their fabulous content, and a special holiday-themed glimpse into their lives.
With that being said are we ready to see which international creator is behind door #2 on my Holiday ADVENTure?

It’s…
Meeghan from Meeghan Reads And Bakes!
That’s right, y’all, we’re heading Down Under for today’s Holiday ADVENTure! And while it’s technically Dec. 3 in Oz, I hope this Melbourne-based blogger will appreciate being celebrated on “two days” with it being the 2nd here in the States!
Beyond the fact that her Australian vibes flash me back to my study abroad experience junior year, Meeghan is one of the sweetest people I’ve encountered throughout the past year! We’ve bonded over our love of Aussie authors like Amie Kaufman, C.S. Pacat, and Jay Kristoff (whom she may or may not have “accidentally” followed to a bookstore one day 😂) and the one and only Harry Potter! Beyond that, this blue-haired Ravenclaw (talk about house pride, am I right?) is great at leaving positive and friendly comments on posts and manages to maintain a super active blog! Whether it’s posting YA fantasy & contemporary reviews (which she rates on a scale of 1 to 10 Stars) or partaking in popular weekly/monthly memes, you’re certain to find something you can enjoy — and relate to — on her site! Please give her some of your time by checking out and following the links below:

1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?
This is going to be very weird to everyone not in Australia, but around Christmas every year we have these beetles that arrive en masse, and the only time of the year you see them is Christmas time, so we call them Christmas beetles. So every year as we get closer to Christmas I go hunting for them. I grew up on a farm and they were absolutely everywhere when I was young – you couldn’t go outside without seeing them, but they’re getting rarer every year now. They look weird, but they are totally harmless and they have this terracotta colour shell, but with a purple green shimmer to it.
2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent?
I don’t really have a singular favourite scent for Christmas. It’s a combination of a lot of things: pine trees, cookies baking, the ocean or chlorine from the pool, BBQs, and all the delicious food smells like baked hams and seafood. But, because I was fortunate enough to have a white Christmas last year in Europe, my favourite scent from that was from this little inn we stayed at in Denmark. They had oranges studded with cloves over a fireplace and the whole inn smelt like how Christmas looks in movies!
3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?
I just love having ham and prawns and delicious fresh bread at Christmas. We’re a pretty relaxed family, and while we do have the roast dinners with the extended family, my favourite was always just a simple Christmas ham sandwich and some prawns with seafood sauce with my parents while we were getting ready for everyone to come over.
4) What is your favorite holiday jam?
“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” by Frank Sinatra. Although I do also really like the Daniela Andrade version too!

5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?
Well, if I’m being completely honest, I wish Santa would bring me Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff (nine months early!!).
But, in terms of books that are released, then I’m hoping for either the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu or the Vicious duology by V. E. Schwab.
6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?
So much! I started the year having the most wonderful honeymoon with my husband in Europe. I had a beautiful baby nephew born in June. I won a promotion just last week in my job. I finished my Goodreads goal and discovered a bunch of amazing new authors that are now auto-buys. I had some health challenges along the way, but it’s all looking good again heading into 2019!
7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?
Buy a house!

It is so interesting to think about holidays in the southern hemisphere and it being summer! The beetles sound like such a unique tradition and I really enjoyed learning a bit more about Meeghan!
