Hey there, book nerds!

I went more than 12 hours without posting on my blog 😱 Did you miss me??

Taking a break from double posting gave me a moment to catch up on comments, fangirl with my Squad (read: schedule our next buddy read), and generally take it easy. I even watched Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again…again — don’t judge me — so I’m calling it a win! 🎤

But it’s time to dive back in and check out the next stop in my holiday-themed series! In case you missed the previous posts here’s a quick recap:

Spencer from Common Spence!

Hi! Hello! And Welcome to Spencer’s stop along my Holiday ADVENTure! 😉

This spirited Slytherin has (in just 9 short months) become one of my favorite bookish creators and I’m so thrilled he’s part of our bookish community! From the very first line in his very first video, I knew he was bringing something special to the BookTube scene! Launching his channel earlier this year, Spencer’s energy, passion, and humor won me over almost instantaneously! Seriously, I think the moment I watched his “10 Tropes I Hate” video I immediately followed him on EVERY MEDIUM I could find! And lucky for me, Spence followed back and recognized my enthusiasm as love and not stalking. 😂 Posting an average of 2 to 3 videos a week, Spencer covers everything from hauls, reviews, tags, and readathons. But salty Spencer might be my favorite Spencer. I dare you to watch this video and not laugh out loud at least once!

1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?

Hallmark movies! Yes, they’re all kinda predictable and yes they’re all pretty sappy — but ho ho ho, my whole family gets invested. I think we’ve seen at least 80% of all the Christmas movies Hallmark has ever made!

2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent? 

It really isn’t Christmas until I’ve watched “Christmas Vacation,” but I’m also a big fan of “Scrooged” and the VH1 classic “A Diva’s Christmas Carol.”

3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?

Hot Cocoa and sugar cookies! Also, my mom’s sweet potato casserole has been known to change lives.

4) What is your favorite holiday jam?

Is there really any other answer besides “All I Want For Christmas is You”? Gotta love a festive Mariah Carey moment!

5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?

I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman.

I loved Radio Silence and I’m eager to read all of her works!

6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?

Booktube! I joined back in February and it’s been some of the best Common Spence I’ve ever practiced. The friends, the books, the memories — priceless! 

7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?

Go more places and do more cool things!
