What’s going on, book nerds?
Today’s post is coming to you a little late, and I do apologize. It’s not a reflection on today’s blogger by any means, but more because:
1) According to a Twitter survey I conducted MOST of y’all blog hop/tube hob in the evenings.
AND…
2) I was delayed because my beautiful sister-in-law asked me to be the “secret keeper” for her baby’s upcoming gender reveal party!!! And regardless of how you may feel about that, I’m sure you can all understand HOW EXCITING it is to be entrusted with such a significant task! I can’t wait for our loved ones to find out! Wish me luck, y’all!!
Beyond that fun & exciting news, it’s time to dive back into my holiday-themed series! In case you missed the previous posts here’s a quick recap:
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, I’ll be highlighting one content creator that has made an impact in my bookish life. Each post will feature a mini bio on the day’s selected star, all of the links to their fabulous content, and a special holiday-themed glimpse into their lives.
Shall we open door #6 and discover who’s next up on my Holiday ADVENTure?

It’s…
Nicole from A Myriad Of Books!
This sweet Hufflepuff is someone I associate with several of my bookish firsts! Not only did she host the Twitter giveaway for my very first ever WON ARC (Invictus in case you wanted to know), but she also is the first bookish buddy I’ve met out in the wild! That’s right, I got to spend a few quality hours fangirling with one of my “fake friends” 🤣 at the Muse of Nightmares launch party back in October! And I’m super glad it happened because this aspiring author is a dang gem, y’all.
Beyond the quality content on her blog and bookstagram account, Nicole’s efforts to promote ownvoice works and get diverse reads into the hands of marginalized readers is just one of the many reasons I find her inspiring! She’s constantly striving to help others via giveaways, granting #bookishwishes, or doling out advice to newbies in need! Throughout the past year, this Steve West obsessed Okie has helped me — and others — more times than I can count and that spirit of generosity is something that speaks to this time of year!
And with that being said, I want to take a moment to promote a quick thread on behalf of this fantasy-loving Anglophile because Lord knows she’d help many of us in a heartbeat. Nicole’s teenaged step brother, Ryley, has a rare disease (treated like cancer, but not cancer via chemo & radiation) that he’s battled for years. In a few weeks he’ll be put through a days-long test that’s mentally and physically draining, which will most likely have him in the hospital/inpatient facility over Christmas. Nicole put together a mini Christmas list and if you’re able or moved to help (read: absolutely no pressure; kind thoughts are equally appreciated) out feel free to click this link. Nicole doesn’t know I’m sharing this story here, but I’d be remiss to not get the word out as best as I can for a loved member of my bookish family!
Long story short, if you’re in the market for fantastic fantasy recs, funny pictures of an adorable dog named Ollie, or someone to discuss any (and all) things Britain, give Nicole’s links a click below:

1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?

My favorite thing to do around the holidays is decorating! Beyond that I love to bake holiday-themed treats and indulge a little! When I was younger, my family would always go to my grandparents’ house a few states away, and I really saw that as a tradition for my younger years.
2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent?
Well, I can tell you what I don’t like–a lot of woodsy smells, like pine, cedar, etc. I like a lot of fruit smells, but I currently have a peppermint candle from Bath and Body Works I’ve been dying to burn… I think I’ll do that right now…🕯️
3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?
Oh my gosh! I’m an avid Starbucks drinker, so as soon as the salted caramel mocha hits in the fall, I’m guzzling it down! I recently discovered the gingerbread latte and it’s been my go-to for this holiday season, too! I also enjoy a nice cup of cocoa (not the pre-mixed kind). And all of these drinks must have TONS of whipped cream, please! 🙂
4) What is your favorite holiday jam?
Husband and I really enjoy She & Him during the holidays. They made a great Christmas album a few years ago. There’s something about Zooey’s voice I just love!

5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?
To be honest, a lot of books I want don’t release until next year!
I’m dying to get my hands on King of Scars or the 4th book in the An Ember in the Ashes quartet.
6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?
I’ve definitely learned to be content where I am, to be thankful for what I have (even though I sometimes can get really frustrated when things don’t go my way). I know it’s really cheesy to say that you never know when someone or something will be taken from you, but I’m finding that extra true lately.
7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?
I’m actually not one to set goals, which seems a bit opposite of my personality, lol. But next year I turn 30 (!!!), and have some big plans to see family I’ve never met before (halfway across the world!) so I think at this point, I’ll say my goal is: Enjoy, don’t stress!

There’s your late-night edition of my #HolidayADVENTure2018! I know it was a little longer than normal, but I truly hope you’ve enjoyed getting to learn about Nicole and how she spends the holidays! Wishing you guys all the best as we wrap up another busy week tomorrow! Happy holidays and happy reading!
I love Nicole too much! I think she was one of my first friends in the bookish community – we met on Facebook, and I think it was even a while before I started my blog or anything! She is so sweet. ♥
