Afternoon, my book nerds!!
First and foremost, thanks so much for all the love yesterday! I got one of those fun notifications from WordPress this morning that yesterday was my “best day for likes” ever!! Maybe this double posting thing is where it’s at…
…but hopefully not lol because this is an intense pace for me as evidenced by my lack of reading so far in December. Seriously, it’s going to be my sloooowest month of the year! *womp womp* BUT, if it means I got to spend that time bragging on people I love instead, I’m okay with that too!
In case you’re new to my holiday-themed series, or if you’ve missed the previous posts here’s a quick recap for you:
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, I’ll be highlighting one content creator that has made an impact in my bookish life. Each post will feature a mini bio on the day’s selected star, all of the links to their fabulous content, and a special holiday-themed glimpse into their lives.
So we’re a day late to this party, but let’s open door #11 and see the next creator on my Holiday ADVENTure?
Kayla from Books and Blends!
I had the pleasure of meeting Kayla, Darling 😉 earlier this year via IG messenger. I’m not sure whether she found me, or I found her (Kayla do you remember??), but I’m super thankful that one way or another we did!
Kayla, a self-described “hopeless romantic,” is the QUEEN of romance reads and my go-to source for all things contemporary! Want to know why? Well, not only has my sister Slytherin read 210+ books THIS YEAR ALONE, but she also has managed to write quality reviews for dang near ALL OF THEM! In fact, Kayla’s reviewing presence is so on point, she was actually ranked #20 on the “Top Reviewers” on Goodreads just last month! Which basically means this sweet Texas native posted less reviews than only 19 other people that use Goodreads in the entire United States!! Talk about impressive!
Whether you follow her reviews on Goodreads, or on her pretty and pink blog, make sure you spend some time today checking out this Kdrama fan’s platforms. She’s so warm and welcoming and a huge part of why I wish Houston was closer to Dallas! ❤ For real, if you’re looking for a responsive new bookish friend, give Kayla some love:
1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?
My favorite thing to do is to make my apartment really cozy. I love decorating and filling my space with festive scents, fuzzy blankets, and WAY too many decorations!
2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent?
My favorite holiday scent is Winter Candy Apple from Bath and Body Works.
Every time I smell it I think of the holidays.
3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?
My favorite holiday drink is a frozen cranberry margarita.
If someone under 21 is asking, then it’s the cranberry Canada Dry soda.
4) What is your favorite holiday jam?
My favorite holiday song is “Oh, Santa” by Mariah Carey.
5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?
Hmm… The number one book I would want is The Wicked King by Holly Black.
I know it’s really hyped but Santa can make it happen!
6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?
I’m thankful for my family and for all of the lovely friendships I have made in the book community.
7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?
To work on overloading my TBR. I always try and read so many books a month that I start to overwhelm myself.

Thank you guys so much for coming back to check out my delayed #HolidayADVENTure visit! I’m hoping getting to know Kayla and learning about her holiday happenings made it worth the wait! What am I saying? Of course it did! Kayla’s amazing!! In other news, I’ll be posting Dec. 12th’s creator later this evening so definitely come back and check it out! Happy holidays and happy reading!
