Yesterday’s post not only filled up the first FIVE rows of our beautiful bookish tree, but it also marked the FINAL 10 days before Christmas. I can’t describe how thankful I am for your responses to this series thus far, and I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy our final 10 creators!

Goodness, I don’t even know where to begin with this one! I guess origin stories are as good a place as any…
I first discovered Mel a few years ago due to her thought-provoking reviews, as I’m sure most of you did as well. Whether it was through biblical-based SF adventures, emotional contemporaries, or a certain fae series, you could definitely say Mel’s Corrupted me and my bookshelves!
And I’m not alone in feeling inspired! Reading just shy of 200 books this year, this Vegas-based blogger is currently the THIRD MOST POPULAR reviewer on Goodreads in the entire United States. Her ability to publish consistently solid reviews has not only caught the attention of Buzzfeed, but also made her pretty follow worthy. In fact, Goodreads currently has her ranked as the 15th most followed person on Goodreads. To put that into perspective for you, this SFF-loving gem had 1000+ more follows this week than the likes of Rick Riordan, Cassandra Clare, or Brandon Sanderson! I mean…I don’t even have the words to express how insane that is! But as the person who’s inspired more 5-Star reads for me than anyone else, I have to agree the praise is well deserved!
But the BEST part about Melanie isn’t her stats, her reviews, her “hot mess” unboxing videos, or even her cozy photos on Booksta. It’s that she’s truly good people. Mel has that rare ability to make any of her 34,000 followers feel special, loved, and like they’re her best friend. She takes the time to comment, send praise, and boost you whether it’s day 1 or 101 in your friendship. And the more I get to know her, the more thankful I am to be able to not only call her a friend, but also a member of my found family. I could ramble on and on about the similarities we share in life, family, relationships, musical tastes, books (duh!), and faux HP houses, but instead I’ll just say if you’re not following my TWIN yet, please click the links below. 1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?
I don’t talk about religion much, but I am Catholic, and midnight mass is something I’ve attended for every year of my life, no matter who I’ve gone with, no matter what city I’m in. And it is something that I just think is so beautiful, and it is always the highlight of every Christmas for me.
2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent?
This is a hard one, mostly because I love so many scents! But my favorite for the season has to be anything that’s fresh and minty. Basically, have you ever sniffed Lush’s Intergalactic? That.
3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?
My body is made up of 50% Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks during every holiday season!
4) What is your favorite holiday jam?
Leslie Odom Jr.’s “Simply Christmas” is playing constantly in my house during this time of year.
5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?
The Waterstone’s edition of Queen of Air and Darkness!
6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?
All the friendships and connections I’ve made with people (like you) in the book community. I feel so blessed that I am able to carve out a little piece of the internet that is filled with books, love, and friendship. It means more to me than I have words to express.
7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?
To be happy. I know that sounds wild, but I put so much pressure on myself, in every aspect of my life, and I just want to learn to sit back and enjoy everything that is going on around me a little more. So, basically, more ASMR videos. And… maybe me making ASMR booktube videos! *wink*

Melanie is honestly one of the sweetest bloggers on the platform and actually my blog’s first follower! She is so busy and consistently takes time to invest in her friendships, and I honestly value that so much. She’s an absolute treasure and I am so glad that you featured this fae-loving blogger. Also, midnight mass is beautiful. I am not religious but I’ve gone a few times. Chills.

I am so excited to see Mel on here. She is honestly one of the sweetest people in the community. We are so lucky to have her. I honestly don’t know how she does everything. I find it so hard to keep on top of everything with blogging and Mel is always putting 100% into it everyday. It’s super impressive. It always puts a smile on my face seeing a comment from her. She really knows how to brighten your day.
