NEW SERIES ALERT: Holiday ADVENTure 2018!

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you know that I started a secret blogging project for the month of December in efforts to:

Thank this wonderful community for being so welcoming throughout this past year of blogging.
Spread some holiday cheer by highlighting some of the people that have made this journey extra special.
AND to hold me accountable to this blog by ending 2018 strong!

Another thing you should know about me is that I adore Advent Calendars. There’s a beloved story in my family (told every holiday season) about how when we were little my brother tore through his annual treat-filled calendar — eating all the chocolates in one day!! The story goes on to say that I took pity on my little brother and would break my daily treat into two pieces so he could enjoy it too! We shared in harmony until one fateful (and story-inspiring) day. On the infamous day in question, while my parents were looking for my baby brother, they apparently heard him snickering behind our Christmas tree — revealing his secret hideaway. When they peered around the tree they discovered him laughing and clutching my empty calendar because he had eaten all of my remaining treats too!! We laugh thinking about this story every year and it brought to mind the PERFECT way to spread my love and cheer! And that’s how my BRAND NEW series came to be! I welcome you all to my: From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, I’ll be highlighting one content creator that has made an impact in my bookish life. Each post will feature a mini bio on the day’s selected star, all of the links to their fabulous content, and a special holiday-themed glimpse into their lives.

The responses so far have been so fun and informative and I truly hope you find as much enjoyment from them as I did behind the scenes!!

I have to be honest with y’all when I formulated this idea I almost let fear get the best of me. I literally had butterflies wrestling around in my stomach as I sent each on my selected buddies the request. But proving what a truly magical community this really is, the positive, rapid-fire responses quickly squashed my fears. I am so blessed by the enthusiasm of this undertaking so far, and I hope that it delivers on the screen as it does in my mind!

On a final note, this series is truly meant to be a good vibes only zone! I intend for this to be a fun, quick, daily post that gets you in the holiday spirit while also introducing you to some phenomenal creators in our bookish community. If this series makes anyone feel left out, rejected, unnoticed PLEASE know this was not my intention. I also would like to point out that while I celebrate Christmas, I know some of the people featured (as well as many of you reading this) do not. Regardless of your faith, I hope you can find the joy behind this effort, and more importantly, some amazing new people to follow! Come back tomorrow to check out Day 1’s inspiration!
