Good evening, book nerds!!
I did it! I survived the mall and all the holiday shoppers!🙌 I feared the worst when the first store I went to was sold out of the item I was seeking, but your girl’s resourceful and luckily I found it in another storefront! 🎉Victory!! 🎉
In addition to doing most of my holiday shopping, and getting all of it wrapped (so far), I also spent some time this weekend reading, which is an activity that’s been sorely lacking this month! I’m hoping to get some quality book time in before the holidays, but we shall see…
But y’all aren’t here for my weekend recap! You’re here for my holiday-themed series! In case you’re new to this series, or have missed out on any of the previous posts (linked below), here’s a quick recap for you:
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, I’ll be highlighting one content creator that has made an impact in my bookish life. Each post will feature a mini bio on the day’s selected star, all of the links to their fabulous content, and a special holiday-themed glimpse into their lives.
Let’s open door #15 and see which creator is next up on my Holiday ADVENTure!

It’s…
Bee from Bookish Pisces!
I’ve only known Bee for a few months, but they’ve already made quite the impact and I can’t wait to see how they shakes things up in 2019!
Like a true Pisces (I should know my hubby is one too!) Bee is genuine, honest, and emotional, which is what drew me to their channels in the first place. Not only can they lay down some truths when it comes to rant reviews (I’m looking at you Final Girls), but they also use their voice where it matters most.
You see, while our bookish community is often full of love and the best of the best people, it can also be a hot mess at times. Controversies emerge at least once a week, which can leave people silent in threads, but chatty in DMs. What I absolutely adore about Bee above all else is how authentic they are with their opinions. Bee uses their platforms to express their truths and that’s a quality I find incredibly enviable. Whether it’s about books, mental illness advocacy, elitism, colorism, you name it, they’re not afraid to throw their hat into the ring.
Beyond their Twitter/Booktube presence, Bee stays pretty active between work, being a newlywed, co-admining the Lit Coven Book Club, writing solid poetry, and maintaining their other platforms. One of my favorite things about their Booksta feed in particular is that it often features library books, a habit I would love to see become more normalized heading into the new year! If you’re looking for a new SFF-focused pal I’d definitely recommend giving Bee some of your time!

1) What is your favorite thing to do around the holidays/favorite holiday tradition?
My absolute favorite thing to do on the holidays is curl up and play games with my family and read.
All of our traditions are super low maintenance so we chill and play chess or Monopoly, it’s nice.
2) What is your favorite holiday scent? Or favorite holiday movie if you don’t have a fave scent?
My favorite holiday scent would have to be apple cinnamon or evergreen. We always get a real Christmas tree and it makes the house smell PHENOMENAL.
3) What is your favorite holiday drink or dish?
Wine and Cake for Christmas!!!!!!! Please and Thank you!
4) What is your favorite holiday jam?
My favorite holiday jam is “Christmas Cookies” by RuPaul or “Carol of the Bells.”

5) What is the number 1 book you hope Santa/family friend brings you?

I would die for an ARC of With The Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo or On The Come Up by Angie Thomas!
6) What is something you’re thankful for in 2018?
I’m thankful for all the people I’ve met in the Book Community, my book club The Lit Coven, and my husband, cats, and bunnies
7) What’s one of your goals for 2019?
One of my goals for 2019 would be to write my first novel!
